What will happen to Rio Bingo?

The bosses of a Bingo hall bosses want to turn a former dance studio into an arcade. Rio Bingo is located on Furtherwick Road in Canvey, and it is looking to refurbish its building by making a new entrance in the back as well as an arcade. The entertainment venue is operated by Rio Majestic, and it has submitted an application to the Castle Point Council.

The bingo hall currently has about 11 arcade machines in a small room which is located at the front of the building. The brand new entrance will lead directly to a lobby with a reception. Moreover, there will be a new bar with seats in the arcade area and bathrooms. Furthermore, in the main bingo hall, the washrooms and the caller desks will be refreshed.

There is no need to mention that vending machines and new seating will also be installed and the existing entrance will most likely be turned into a fire exit.

John Spivey of Fisch Design stated that the proposed unoccupied rear that was a previous dance studio will be utilised as an extension to the club’s small arcade. However, there is additional arcade gaming space that is required to meet the customers’ demand, so the rear building will be functioning as a brand new arcade, which will eliminate noise away from the main hall.

There will also be new signs installed, which will guide the customers to the brand new entrance. Moreover, the fencing will include the car park, which will also receive improvements.

The brand new entrance will provide improved access for the disabled customers.
